spark metal studio

October 14th, 2011

Kathleen Dautel, of Raleigh, NC, left her career in architecture to launch a jewelry line called spark metal studio a mere 2 years ago and has since become one of Zola’s most popular artists. Her stainless steel designs are feminine, modern and fun. She is constantly creating and we love everything she does.

Buy a piece of spark metal studio jewelry this weekend to celebrate American Craft Week and save 20% on any other item of your choice!

Ed & Kate Coleman

October 13th, 2011

Husband and wife artistic duo Ed & Kate Coleman create wonderfully wacky ceramic tiles, vases, clocks and more from their tiny studio in Swannanoa, NC just outside of Asheville. They put a new spin on NC pottery with bright colors and a modern aesthetic.

Buy any Coleman piece between now and Sunday 10/16 to celebrate American Craft Week and get a coupon for 20% off that’s good until 10/31!

SWIRL

October 11th, 2011

Swirl is not only the signature design on many of her pieces, it’s the name given to the colorful creations of Andrea Iliadis.  Wood from torn down barns, nails, metal roofing and many other found objects  are reborn as funky fish, flowers, birds, snakes, stars and more. Working from her Carrboro, NC studio, there is no end to Andrea’s creative energy and no two pieces are alike.

Buy a SWIRL piece this week to celebrate our NC craft artists as part of American Craft Week and get a coupon for 20% off anything in the store!

Rachel Bass

October 9th, 2011

Durham’s own Rachel Bass is one of Zola’s best-selling jewelry artists. Her delicate pieces combine sterling silver or gold with gemstones, glass beads and pearls, creating a sense of elegance and grace. Rachel is an active member of the local craft community and has her work in galleries across North Carolina.

American Craft Week

October 7th, 2011

October 7-16 is American Craft Week!

Craft Retailers and Artists for Tomorrow (CRAFT) have designated this week to recognize “the countless ways handmade objects enrich our daily lives and contribute to our national aesthetic and economy.”

To celebrate North Carolina’s history of craftsmanship and promote our local artists, we will spotlight a different artist each day this week on our website and facebook page. And… if you purchase something by an NC artist you will receive a coupon for 20% off an additional item of your choice.

You can also win a $250 or $150 shopping spree at Zola by entering the essay and/or photo contest! (Click to see complete rules and details.) Last year’s winner was a Zola customer – congratulations to Gwen Palmer! Read her winning essay.
